Vulnerability Registration Service (VRS)

Free to register, Vulnerability Registration Service (VRS) lets you notify companies you are vulnerable in a single place so you don’t have to keep repeating yourself.

How does it work?

You can let companies know that you’re a carer by registering with the VRS, for free, and selecting the ‘Unpaid Carer’ vulnerability flag. Organisations that use the VRS will be able to see this, and take it into account when they communicate with you. You can either opt to be declined for financial service applications or add a ‘referral flag’ to let organisations know about your circumstances.

A single reference point

The VRS provides people and organisations with a single reference point to ensure that people do not need to have the same, emotionally draining conversation with those organisations. The organisations which use our service will be alerted to the fact that someone’s situation needs to be considered – whether they are contacting them for the first time or where they have an existing relationship with them.

What does registering mean?

People who register for the VRS can choose to simply make people aware of their circumstances, or they can opt to be declined financial or related services for a period of time – perhaps because they feel that they are not in the position to make a decision which is really in their best interests.
